From the spring of 2004 through March of 2005, Paul DiCola planned and<\/p>\n
implemented his Eagle Scout Project, which involved refurbishing the<\/p>\n
South Side Boys & Girls Club in New Rochelle, New York.\u00a0 The Club was<\/p>\n
used by over 400 children each day as an after school site for homework<\/p>\n
and play.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
When he first saw these children and the poor condition in which they used<\/p>\n
the Club, he knew he had to make it his project and help them enjoy a<\/p>\n
fresher, cleaner, happier environment.\u00a0\u00a0With his team of volunteers, he<\/p>\n
oversaw badly needed painting, repairs, ceiling tile replacements, wood<\/p>\n
sanding, furniture donations and the freshening of murals.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The project involved over 550 hours of volunteer time from his fellow Troop 11<\/p>\n
scouts, their families and Paul.<\/p>\n
